Homecoming begins as a live-taped comedy special; funny in the way real life catches you off guard, honest in the way only distance can make you. Told out loud, in the room, exactly how it’s meant to be heard. And when the stories land, the music rises.
The night transforms into a full live performance where the storyteller becomes the artist in motion, backed by the band, delivering the sound of a return in its complete form.
Before Hollywood, GNL Zamba reshaped Ugandan rap/Hiphop — took Lugaflow somewhere it had never been and made a generation pay attention. Then he left. He spent years in Los Angeles, working in film, watching home from a distance, learning who he was when nobody was calling his name in the streets.
Now he's back. With a chair, a microphone, and the things you can only say once you've gone far enough to see them clearly.
You have to lean farther from the canvas to see the bigger picture.
